I’ve always loved the idea of making homemade ravioli but am daunted by the idea of rolling and filling all of them. This gizmo makes it easier. You put a flat sheet of pasta over one of the two metal trays, then use the white plastic mold to push round scoop-shaped indentations into the pasta dough. After you fill the indentation with your filling, you put the other sheet of dough over it all and use the second metal tray to squish and crimp the two sheets of dough together and cut them into squares.

The hardest part is making pasta dough, although that is just time-consuming, not difficult. If you are fortunate to live in a place where you can buy fresh pasta dough in sheets, this is even easier to use.

Making ravioli is still a process, not a quicky dinner idea. But this gadget makes it doable. Lots of fun for a cooking project with kids.

My family has been making homemade pasta each holiday for several generations and we have always used a 12 hole ravioli set since the inception which was a great improvement over hand cutting and sealing. Having a set of 6 hole cutters, I had thought, would be less efficient, but this has proven me wrong. Many times when rolling out the pasta dough we end up with shorter sections that don’t quite cover the 12 hole die but having the option to do 6 has reduced the overall waste and made it much easier to keep the production line moving. This particular setup is very sturdy and sits well on the granite counter we use to make the dough as it has nice rubber(ish?) feet that hold it in place. Not sure how long the sharpness will stick around as far as the cutting portion is concerned but as of this holiday it worked like a champ. The size of the ravioli is exacly what I like, just over 2 inches square, which allows you to add the correct proportion of filling to dough without it tasting too doughy. Storing this jig is also much easier than the larger 12 hole set due to its compact sie. Overall I am very happy with this purchase.

This seemed rather basic after taking it out of the box. I was concerned it wouldn’t cut through the dough enough. It definitely did! made some quick ravioli, and it stretched the dough well. I also was able to stuff them quite well! Would highly advise a little something to help the dough from sticking to the templates. We enjoyed this one!

Impresa jumbo ravioli maker press set consists of 2 parts : a heavy duty non-stick metal cutter frame and a high quality plastic mold. Each cutter frame and plastic mold set makes 6 raviolis, and the box contains two sets. The instructions are printed on the box.
I have never made ravioli before and I am looking forward to learning how to use this press. As a newbie, I am expecting a longer than normal learning curve, maybe a few batches will end up in the trash and I numerous hours watching You Tube videos. As a person who has celiac disease, I have to use gluten free flours, which can be challenging. Despite this, I am quite excited to start experimenting with the different flours and different fillings —my motivation — to make 12, three inch squares of Gluten free raviolis. YUM
The quality of this set has far exceeded my expectations.

  5. Honest Reviews!

This ravioli maker worked great and it was easy to make uniformly shaped ravioli. Clean up is pretty easy and quick, too.

It is not advertised to include a small rolling pin, so I got exactly what I ordered. However, it would have been more complete to include a small rolling pin. So, you’ll need to grab your own when using this press. It’s still a great product and I recommend it.

Good quality ravioli kit. I usually make ravioli by hand and seal it with the edge of a plate, but this is a good alternative to have. It’s easy and fun to use, and the results and very pretty and uniform raviolis.

My wife is Asian and sometimes makes dumplings for “potsticker”. Although I like “potsticker”, I don’t like some of the things that the commercial vendors put in them and would prefer ingredients to my own particular tastes. My wife has *tried* to teach me how to properly fold them, but I have never really succeeded — and that was even when I was younger with my pre-arthritic hands. I started using the folding molds to make them and my wife doesn’t make fun of my dumplings as often these days, but it is still a slow process for me and is not as efficient as I would like.

Awhile back, I ordered a device similar to this one off of AliExpress, but it make the ravioli/dumplings quite a bit smaller than this item. It was also quite a bit larger (about 10″ in diameter) which meant that I needed to roll out a fairly large piece of dough to cover it all. It also ended up being rather tedious putting the filling in that of the dough pockets and I started wanting something that had larger dough pockets and was a bit smaller so that it was more manageable. So, when Vine suggested this, I quickly decided to give it a try.

It ended up working quite well for this. It is also nice that they include a plastic piece that you can press inside of the dough after you have it over the mold so as to provide the indentations for the stuffing. With the other unit, I had to do each one individually by hand using whatever took I had handy at the time.

My wife will probably still make fun of my dumplings because “they don’t look like dumplings are supposed to look like”, but I don’t care since they taste the same as far as I’m concerned. I’ve also used them with homemade biscuit dough and a filling of a slice of andouille sausage and a bit of cheese to make something like a kolache. That is not the *proper* dough for a kolache, but it works for me — I’ve never been satisfied by my attempts at anything with a *proper* yeast type dough.

End result? It works and does everything it claims. Nothing particularly special about it — it just *works*. As such, by the below rating scale, it earns a 3-star (i.e. “average”) rating, maybe a 3.5. Unfortunately, Amazon does not allow that level of granularity in ratings.

    STAR RATING SCALE:
1 — Poor product; Waste of money at ANY price; Blatant lies in the original listing.
2 — Below average product; Something about it is a bit lacking; It could be conflicted specifications or errors in the original listing or that it was arrived with damage that was unlikely to have occurred during shipping and should have been caught in either the manufacturer’s or seller’s quality control.
3 — Average product; Meets expectations, perfectly serviceable, but does not do anything that sets it apart from similar products; Does not have some features that makes me say, “Wow, that’s a neat feature”.
4 — Above average product; Something about it sets it a bit above similar products on the market.
5 — Excellent product (or perhaps customer service); There is NO room for improvement whatsoever; NOTHING is perfect, so this rating *should* be EXTREMELY difficult to achieve.
